Easy Access To Shelters
Make Homeless shelters easier to access
For our CBL project, we chose to work on making homeless shelters safer. Some homeless are scared to go into homeless shelters because of alcohol abuse, which is very common in homeless shelters. According to NPR Many homeless people are scared and feel unsafe in their shelters because the homeless who have an addition to alcohol appear dangerous and unfriendly to others. They can harm the other homeless and make them feel unprotected. Since they feel this
way, the homeless leave the shelters and go back to live on the streets. Our ideas have changed over time by hearing our partners ideas and collaborating in different ways. We all came up with different problems and solutions and we figured out a way to narrow it down to just one. After all of that hard work we finally came up with the problem we are going to try and help. The feedback definitely had a big impact on changing our ideas. When we go it the feedback we really took it to heart and thought about it a lot. We discussed our new ideas with our group and came up with a solution that will hopefully impact our problem in a positive way. We had to do more research and and to dig deeper, but we finally found a solution. http://www.aacounty.org/sebin/n/c/homeless%20shelter.jpg http://www.npr.org/2012/12/06/166666265/why-some-homeless-choose-the-streets-over-shelters http://www.aacounty.org/sebin/n/c/homeless%20shelter.jpg
