Easy Access To Shelters
Make Homeless shelters easier to access
For this week, our data had a large impact on our group. The data we got was a big part in showing that our problem, was a real issue in the world and that the solution we chose was a good choice. Yes, our data was interesting because walkers and cane usage increased by 400% at the homeless shelter we worked with. Before we helped them out, they had zero walkers and canes and we made a huge impact. We emailed back and forth with the Union Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter and got information from specific people who helped us out. Our group could have also called the shelter, instead of just emailing them to have more of our questions answered.
Our CBL group had a good success at the Forum. Each group member had a specific "job" in which they could know a lot about. Throughout the Forum, we switched roles depending on who was free to talk to a new person who came to our area. This week we started the poster and got the canes and walkers. We got two walkers and two canes for the shelter. This might not seem like a lot but considering they had none of each before, it made a big impact. Sophie has done a great job on the Poster and we will be giving the Union Rescue Mission our walkers and canes on Friday. After the Donation We have made the donation to the Union Rescue Mission. You can tell we made an impact because when we walked in and handed the security guard there the walkers and canes, he said “Oh my gosh, thank you, we needed these.” Our group has done good work on the poster (especially Sophie) we took a picture of us handing our walkers and canes to the security guard and we are using that as our original photo.
